I took this photograph on Naif Road in Deira, Dubai when I was there for some work. I was standing on the pavement next to this building and I noticed some stone and debris falling from above. I walked closer to the building and saw that it was in a shockingly bad state.
From the looks of it, the building is fully occupied by residents because clothes are being dried in almost every balcony. I don’t think such old buildings are suitable for so many people to live in. Even this area is extremely busy and hundreds of people pass by this building. If there’s ever any mishap, it will be big.
I request the relevant authorities to please take immediate action in order to ensure that the residents and passersby are safe.
