It is the time to introduce some restrictions regarding the usage of car horns.

Hospitals, schools, shopping malls and parking areas should be marked as silent zones and the authorities should prohibit the use of horns in these places.

Motorists often sound horns as a mode of communication, without considering their surroundings or the time.

Honking happens everywhere but it seems to be most severe near a hospital and parking structure in Hamdan Street, Abu Dhabi.

[I also often see] valet parking service staff signalling car owners by honking and vice versa.

In addition to limiting the [frequency] of horns, the authorities should also prohibit its use between the hours of 10pm and 7am in residential areas.

Some impatient drivers sound horns loudly during the night time, and are unconcerned about the time — whether it is midnight or early morning.

They do not care about the impact of the noise they make and [end up] creating a nuisance for residents and other motorists.

It would be better if the authorities concerned do the needful to control such bad habits.
