Gas cylinders are being sold in small grocery stores regardless of the repeated warnings and advice from municipal authorities. Some of the grocery stores are keeping the gas cylinders in an outdoor locations, such as their vehicles.

The picture that I have taken is from a grocery store located on Hamdan Street, in Abu Dhabi. When the grocery store gets an order for a gas cylinder, a salesman walks out and gets a gas cylinder from his car and transports it to the customer’s apartment.

I think gas cylinders stored in open places, exposed to the sun and left unattended could lead to big accidents. People are often ignorant about the regulations and do not know how disastrous such practices can be.

I hope the authorities look into this and do the needful to educate grocery store owners that they are violating the rules.
