Qatar to allow Israeli football players if it wins World Cup bid

Doha: Qatar has announced that it will allow Israeli football players to play on its playgrounds if it succeeds in winning the bid to host World Cup 2022, reported the London-based Arabic news website Elaph.
Hassan Abdullah Al Thawadi, the executive director of Qatar 2022 - the committee overseeing the tournament’s bid and preparations - said that Qatar is committed to receive all teams that become eligible in the World Cup without any exception. Qatar News Agency have carried updates on the country’s preparations but not the official’s statement.
Al Thawadi said that politics and sports should not be mixed together and that Qatar would follow all the rules as set by the Fifa, reported Elaph. Other countries from Asia that is competing with Qatar on the bid include Australia, Japan, China, Indonesia, and South Korea.
