Manama: Bahrain's justice and Islamic affairs and endowment ministry has launched an online service to assess people's appreciation of the various Haj (pilgrimage) operators.

"The service allows those who performed Haj to express their assessment of their operators," Abdul Nasser Abdullah, the head of umrah and haj at the ministry, said on Wednesday. "Those who have any kind of complaint can use the website to report them."

The service will be available until the end of the year and the ministry will use the feedback for reference and action, he said.

"We used to have a similar service, but it was print forms that people had to fill. Now, the online service should make it easier and faster for anyone to share their evaluation of their experience," he said.

Overall assessment of the operators will be posted on the website.

Common complaints among pilgrims include slow or below standard services in crowded areas, low quality or limited amount of food and lack of good advice when requested.
