Brianna Hildebrand and Randy Couture will attend PopCon between October 27-29 at Dubai Outlet Mall. PopCon is a new — and free — pop culture convention, hosted by television presenter Guiliana Rancic.
Hildebrand is best known for her role as the hilariously dry Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the 2016 film Deadpool. Couture is a wrestler-turned-actor, who played a recurring role as Toll Road in the action franchise, The Expendables.
Hildebrand and Wacker will be available for autographs, photographs and meet-and-greet sessions at PopCon, though further details have not yet been announced.
Stephen Wacker, Marvel’s vice-president of animation, development and current series will also be in attendance, and will be scouting fresh talent amongst the artist alley. Artist participating in PopCon will be eligible for a free portfolio review from Wacker, who has worked on several Marvel titles, including Amazing Spider Man, Daredevil, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel.
Judges for the cosplay competition, taking place on October 29 — the grand prize is Dh25,000 — have been announced. They include Julian Checkley, who holds a Guinness World Record for ‘The Most Functioning Gadgets on a Cosplay Suit’ for his Batman costume. Cosplayers Yugana Senshi Uon and Sumi Cosplay are also on the panel.
