While it’s common to find Malayalam films with English titles, director Sunil Ebrahim’s new film Y is certainly intriguing with its one letter.

Ebrahim, who last directed the Nivin Pauly suspense thriller Arikil Oraal, returns with another one.

Y is about an incident that happens on the street and how it affects and involves people around it, said Ebrahim.

The film captures the incident happening in one night over two hours.

“Viewers will be constantly asking themselves questions as each scene unfolds, and ‘why’ is one of them,” added Ebrahim. “The climax is being much talked about.”

Y consists of a team of more than 40 newcomers and the only recognisable actor is Alencier Ley Lopez, who plays a policeman.

Y released in Kerala on November 17.
