JetSet Altitude, located on the first floor of Emirates Towers Boulevard, is the latest store to open in The Grooming Company's range of beauty salons across the emirate. The first hairdressing salon in the Middle East to introduce their unique "wash and blow-dry" concept, JetSet now has three locations in Dubai.
The salon range is inspired by the aviation industry of the 1960s and the store layout reflects this, taking the intimacy and luxury of the first-class cabin but leaving the stale air and static behind. The store is white, with a sleek "check in" desk, leather chairs, footrests and white towels by each seat. There are also magazines available at each station and wireless connectivity.
I opt for a full head of highlights, a task undertaken by regional manager and artistic director Patrick Shannon. The entire procedure takes about three hours but the staff is more than accommodating, supplying me with a selection of magazines, drinks and friendly chat.
The products used are beyond satisfactory. Shannon imports his foil from the UK, stating that "it's designed especially for hairdressing", professional highlight heating technology is used to speed the process and luxury shampoo to give that extra shine. I'm given a blow-dry of my choice and a fringe trim. I go for volume and wave, which is firmed up with a spray of L'Oreal Elnett, the staple of all hairdressers. The result? Natural, bright, beautiful hair. "It's all about natural here," Shannon says. With friendly staff and excellent service, JetSet Altitude is set to be a high-flying success.
