Rodarte, Paul Smith for The Rug Company

The Californian sisters known for their dark, otherworldly feminine fashion and the British design king have lent their design aesthetic to your floors. Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy are the latest fashion stars to design handmade pieces for The Rug Company. The five Rodarte patterns can be made to any requirements (Dh5,422-9,957 per square metre) and are available starting this month at the showroom in DIFC. Smith, meanwhile, has created the lovely Oriental Birds piece (Dh15,959 per m2), made in Nepal using hand-spun Tibetan wool and silk yarns.

Chanel at Mall of the Emirates

If you weren’t on the exclusive guest list for April’s Chanel Cruise show on an island off the coast of Dubai, here’s a chance to get an idea of what it was all like (you’ll have to use your imagination to conjure up Tilda Swinton and the leggy models that were present). Mall of the Emirates is playing host to an installation inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s interpretation of the UAE. Look closely at what appears to be traditional Arabic mashrabiya woodwork... Meanwhile here’s the first look at the new campaign for Chance, the youthful Chanel fragrance. Featuring models Anne Sophie Monrad, Lieke Van Houten, Xio Wen, it was shot by Jean-Paul Goude, aka the man who helped Kim Kardashian break the internet with that picture. Thankfully the similarities stretch only to the bottle of liquid.

Eau de Gaga

Boys and girls, here’s a new scent for you both — as if you would expect anything less from Lady Gaga. Her first perfume in two years (from her Haus Laboratories outfit) is created to appeal to both masculine and feminine sensibilities, with white violet, sparkling lime and leather. The campaign was shot by Steven Klein and stars Gaga herself. It’s exclusive to Sephora until the end of the month, Dh280 for 75ml.
