The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the film body behind the Oscar Awards, is taking its relationship with the Dubai International Film Festival (Diff) further. This year, the Academy will be represented at the festival by president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, who will take part in an ‘In Conversation With...’ segment on December 10 where she will discuss her role at the Academy and how the organisation supports initiatives to promote the art and science of the movies.
Another event, led by the Academy on December 13 will be called ‘In the Director’s Chair: A Conversation with Lenny Abrahamson’ featuring the Academy Award-nominated director. Abrhamson’s film. Room, opened Diff last year.
Diff runs from December 7 to 14. Tickets are on sale now on diff.ae.
