Maggie

Arnie is back. But this time he’s back as a nice, loving father with a daughter he can’t let go of.

He stars as Wade Vogal, a guy who’s always been there for his wife and daughter, but when his daughter Maggie (played by the awesome Abigail Breslin, remember the kid from Little Miss Sunshine?) becomes infected by a disease that turns her slowly into a zombie, what can he do?

Cue drawn-out hugs, tense “zombies are coming” moments and a heavy police chase and you’ve got Maggie. Well worth a look this weekend.

Unfriended

We all love a bit of social media, but what happens when someone takes it too far. This film is about a girl called Laura who commits suicide after a video of her acting like a crazy frat girl goes viral. The film takes place a year later — and it seems like she’s come back for revenge.

The film takes place through an online skype call that’s been hacked into, and unless Laura finds out who posted the video that made her kill herself, she’s going to start doing the killing herself.

This is the new age of horror movies and it will definitely make you think twice about posting that dodgy video of your friend on facebook.

Jungle Master

One for the kids this weekend is this new Chinese animation about a little girl called Ranie who is bored with her life at home and finds herself in an enchanted jungle with some serious work on her hands.

In order for her to get home she must help her new friends win back their land from the big nasty boss man. This is the newly released English dubbed version and it features some pretty big names behind the voices; Jane Lynch, Christopher Lloyd and David Spade. Your kids will enjoy it and you’ll be listening out for which voices you recognise.

San Andreas

You want explosions? Want drama? Want to loose yourself for 90 minutes? Well, you 100 per cent need to check out this new movie. This film takes place in the aftermath of a huge earthquake in California. Everything is ruined, everything is almost gone.

Dwayne Johnson plays Ray, a dad who can’t find his little girl, so you know he’ll do anything to find her in the rubble that is now California. Luckily, he’s a rescue helicopter pilot, so at least he’s got the means to get around.
