Ras Al Khaimah: As many as seven men, including the groom, were injured in a knife fight at a wedding ceremony in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday.

The injured men, aged between 20 and 30, sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transferred to hospital for treatment. The dispute broke out when, according to police, the seven guests got into a verbal dispute.

Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Director General of the Police Operations at Ras Al Khaimah police, said the police operation room received a call reporting the incident.

Brigadier Al Hadidi said the quarrel started with a verbal dispute between seven men, before developing into heated quarrel. Some of the men attacked the groom, before the fight became a fierce brawl in which knives were used.

Police launched investigation over the incident.
