Dubai: The 60th international public meeting of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will be held on October 28 in Abu Dhabi as a platform for developing policies of domain name system.

The event, which will be hosted by the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), runs until November 3 and will bring together representatives from governments, civil society, research institutions, and technical communities.

The meeting will discuss the latest developments in the field of internet domains and other topics related to the internet.

Hosting the meeting is in line with the UAE government’s goals on shaping and influencing the future through retaining international relations and acquiring proper technology for growth.

It also supports the TRA’s goals to lead in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, and its efforts to develop the country’s ICT infrastructure.

ICANN is a non-profit company with participants from around the world whose mission is to create a secure and unified global internet network. It also coordinates and supports the unique assigned names.
