Dubai: Bahrain’s national airline Gulf Air has awarded Thales a contract to install in-flight entertainment systems on 39 aircraft, including Boeing 787-900 Dreamliners and Airbus’ new A320 jets.

Gulf Air said in a statement on Wednesday it had chosen Thales’ Avant Android-based in-flight entertainment system. It did not state the value of the contract. Gulf Air will start receiving 787-900s and A320neos from 2018 and A32neos from 2020, the statement said.
