Abu Dhabi: Four people were arrested for stealing money and valuables from steel safes of companies and shops in Al Ain and other towns, police said on Sunday.

The four Asian suspects aged 34, 26, 31 and 25 committed the crimes by climbing the walls of the building and breaking the doors and windows of the company. Then they broke the safes and stole cash and other valuables.

Brigadier Mohammad Sohail Al Rashidi, director of Al Ain Police Directorate, said that Zakher police station received a complaint from a company located in the new industrial zone in Al Ain, saying that someone had broken into the company and stolen cash from safes.

“Investigation teams verified the complaint of the theft, and the suspects were identified, traced and arrested,” added Al Rashidi.

The suspects guided the police to the places they hid the stolen items and the tools they used for the crime.

They confessed to committing several other thefts in Al Ain and other towns.

Al Rashidi called on business owners to take extra precautions and keep the money in banks to avoid thefts and called on the public to report any crimes to the police.
