Abu Dhabi: Four people were injured after a fire erupted in an apartment on a five-storey building on Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, popularly known as Airport Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence put out the fire and prevented it from spreading, said Lt. Colonel Mohammad Abdul Jaleel Al Ansari, director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.
They received an alert from operation room at 2.12pm and Civil Defence team rushed to the scene and evacuated residents from the building. One was seriously injured and three others received moderate injuries in the incident. The injured were taken to the hospital.
The official urged residents to take necessary precautions to avoid fire in apartments.
