Abu Dhabi: The support new mothers receive from the system will greatly help them in their career, according to a young Emirati woman engineer.

“I have noticed that UAE leadership is focusing on the careers of new mothers and this makes me so proud,” Inaam Al Marzouqi said.

“I am not a mother yet, but I appreciate that our leaders believe that females can be both successful professionals and caring mothers with the right support and time management,” she said. Al Marzouqi is Lead Engineer — Projects at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), an aluminium conglomerate owned equally by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Uhoud Al Hashemi, the architect designing EGA’s new global headquarters in Al Taweelah, said the UAE leadership is supporting Emirati women in all aspects and areas within and outside workplace. “The message is clear when our leaders chose eight women as ministers, leading and representing the country in all fields.”

She said that is evidence of the leadership’s trust in women. “We, Emirati women, were raised to believe that ‘the role of women is no less than the role of men’ as taught by our founding father Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” Al Hashemi said.
