Dubai: Public parks in Dubai will host art performances and entertainment activities during the Eid Al Adha holidays.

The holidays will start this weekend and end on Sunday for the private sector and Monday for the public sector.

Mohammad Al Awadi, director of public parks and horticulture department at Dubai Municipality, said: “The programmes will be conducted on the first three days of Eid in three main parks in Dubai, namely, Al Mushrif Park, Creek Park and Zabeel Park. We have included different types of art performances by different nationalities.”

All parks will remain open till 11pm with all its facilities and staff on duty. Additional security and cleaning staff will be deployed in order to ensure the safety and security of visitors, he added.

“The number of park visitors during the last few years indicates the high rate of public interest in socialising with families, relatives and friends, spending the beautiful moments of life in the most attractive places of the city.”

Al Awadi added: “In a bid to meet the expectations of residents and considering the high level of health awareness, the civic body has recently added several new residential and public parks in different areas of the emirate.”
