Dubai: The idea of happiness may differ from person to person, but for most people it’s about they way you are made to feel.

This feeling of being special is what makes Dubai what it is, attracting people from across the world in hordes, every year, year after year.

Dubai, easily one of the safest places in the world, is not content at its residents feeling just safe and happy. They are aiming to be the happiest.

According to a recent survey, an overwhelming majority of Dubai residents said they feel safe and happy, while also being satisfied with the qualify of family life.

The third Dubai Social Study released by the Community Development Authority (CDA) last month revealed that 96 per cent of Dubai residents said they feel safe and protected from crime in Dubai in general, up from the 92.80 per cent registered in 2011.

Among the people surveyed, Westerners were reported being the happiest, followed by Emiratis, then Arabs, while Asians and Africans took the last spot.

The study by Dubai Statistics Centre in partnership with CDA surveyed 3,796 families composed of 1,328 Emirati households, 1,504 non-Emirati households, 464 collective families and 500 individuals from labour accommodations.
