Dubai: All government establishments and departments in Dubai have been told to fly the UAE flag over their buildings at noon on November 3 as part of a national campaign to commemorate Flag Day.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, issued this directive on Thursday.

Flag Day falls on November 3, the day of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession as President of the UAE.

Shaikh Hamdan’s directive is in line with His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s call to residents, urging them to celebrate Flag Day and display the UAE flag in their homes.

Talking about Flag Day, Shaikh Hamdan said: “The UAE flag will fly high — with the will of Allah — in our hearts, departments and homes.”

He pointed out that Flag Day is a day when UAE residents have the opportunity to show their national solidarity and unity.

Shaikh Hamdan added that Flag Day is a highly valued occasion where everyone can renew their loyalty and allegiance to the country and its wise leadership and celebrate the country’s march towards a bright future filled with achievements.
