Sharjah: The Sharjah Debt Settlement Committee approved Dh49.4 million to settle cases for citizens in the emirate. Rashid Ahmad Bin Al Shaikh, Chief of the Sharjah Emiri Court and Head of the Committee, said the Committee approved to pay defaulted debts of individuals as part of the 16th batch of payments.

Al Shaikh explained that the total amount paid by the committee to settle the debts of citizens reached Dh537.3 million for 1,099 beneficiaries.

The move is in line with the directives issued by His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide a stable and decent life for citizens.

Elsewhere, Dr Shaikh Sultan approved Dh9.5 million to repay debts owed by nationals.

The grant will apply for those who receive monthly assistance from Sharjah Department of Social Services.

The latest move comes as part of the generous initiatives of Dr Shaikh Sultan, which places people at the forefront of priorities and seeks to achieve a stable and a decent life for citizens.
