Urdu performance ‘Dastangoi’ comes to the UAE

Treat yourself to an evening of traditional Urdu storytelling when Dastangoi comes to the UAE on September 20. The segment showcasing an ancient art, of leading an audience into a tale through spoken, not written word, will run in Dubai at The Junction, Al Serkal Avenue, on September 20 and at the Indian Embassy Hall in Abu Dhabi a day later.

The two main performers are actor, filmmaker and author Sunil Mehra and Askari Naqvi, a human-rights activist and lawyer, who is also a trained vocalist.

Tickets to Dastangoi in Dubai are Dh150; admission to the Abu Dhabi event is by invitation only.
