Dubai-based artists Patricia Fakhri, Deborah Boussaad, Beena Samuel, Diyali Sen Bhalla, Jeff Scofield, Tsufa Bijelic, Harshad Badbe and Vivienne Mason are showcasing a series of spiritual works in a group show titled “Visions of Islam”. The artworks on display include drawings, abstract paintings in watercolour, oil and acrylic, prints and mixed media works.

The artists, who are members and art instructors from the Dubai International Art Centre, have different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. They have taken inspiration from Islamic culture to create works that reflect the spirit of the month of Ramadan. The show is curated by Jeff Scofield and hosted by Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre.

“Each artist has interpreted the theme in their own way, making this a celebration of the myriad of artistic expression throughout Islamic culture. The show brings to light many different cultural perceptions by artists from around the world who live and create in Dubai. It expresses the vitality of Islamic culture as a unifying force in the modern world,” Scofield says.

Jyoti Kalsi is an arts-enthusiast based in Dubai.

“Visions of Islam” will run at Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre until July 2.
