Dubai: Buyers of jewellery at the Dubai International Jewellery Show 2017 can have their purchases examined at the Dubai Municipality’s stall to make sure they conform to the actual specifications approved by the civic body.

Officials and laboratory experts from the Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) of the Dubai Municipality are available to help jewellery buyers determine the calibre of the precious metals they’re buying.

The DCL has a stall at jewellery show being held at the World Trade Centre till Saturday. The stall is complete with high-tech devices such as the latest mobile laboratory for all gemstones, X-ray machine and other modern technologies to monitor and inspect the quality of precious stones and precious metals.

Moreover, DCL is also displaying its global accreditations and offering free screening service to increase customers’ confidence and happiness on what they buy at the exhibition.

The municipality officials are also distributing handbooks and offering technical consultations at its stall to enhance Dubai’s position as a prestigious centre where shoppers can check the quality of their purchases of precious stones and jewellery.

The civic body is also supervising all the stalls of the participating companies by taking samples of gold and jewels and checking them whether they conform to the international specifications.

In case of non-conformity, the forged goods will be confiscated and the stall will be closed and will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming exhibitions.
