The third annual Chinese Visitor Summit, a networking forum and conference for travel industry professionals, is scheduled to take place from August 23 to 28 of this year, said officials. Hosts to the travel summit include leisure and entertainment destination Yas Island, and the Galleria mall on al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi.

According to hotel establishment statistics released by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), guest performance grew exponentially in 2014, driven by an increase in visitors from China. Guest figures soared from 3,303 in April 2013 to 13,501 in the same month this year, resulting a 309 per cent growth rate.

The summit, supported by the TCA, is organised by Nicholas Publishing International (NPI) in partnership with the Shaghai-based i2i Group. This year’s event, which will occur during TCA’s Abu Dhabi Summer Season, brings 75 delegates from China, including tour operators and media representatives. The guests will be hosted for 2 days of the 6-day programme at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, and one day at Yas Island, which will include tours of the island’s attractions.
