Dubai: Mapsolute Middle East FZ-LLC, the leading GCC provider of interactive maps, has released the Map24 Mobile Version 2.0 route planner software for mobiles and pocket PCs, a company statement said.
"Now, the user can access the GCC map by downloading Map24 on his mobile phone for free, and benefit from the usual functionality, convenience and ease-of use of the online Map24.com. The user can also access other regions such as Europe, North America, Brazil, South Africa, and Australia with multiple-language support," it said.
The user can find addresses, hotels or restaurants, places to visit and millions of other points of interest on his mobile.
Map24 Mobile runs on pocket PCs, Nokia S60s and several multimedia smart phones. The requirement for access to Map24 data is a mobile internet connection.
The new Map24 Mobile 2.0 offers users similar functionalities to the ones found on the online portal Map24. In addition to viewing the maps in two and three dimensions, the integrated mapping material gives a detailed display of road maps including U-turns and one-way streets restrictions.
The Arabic-enabled version is presently under development and will soon be released.
Any user can register for free to use Map24 and download his version of the Map24 Mobile on to his mobile phone. He will then be able to download his MyMap24 address book, that can contain up to 10 of his preferred addresses that he can store for future use on his mobile.
