Dubai: Dubai-based ART Marine, importer and distributor of luxury motor-yachts, Wednesday launched a design that offers complete customer input.

Yachts are not something a buyer picks off a shelf. Made to order, most builders are open to client requirements in terms of interiors. While the usual options for customers would be a choice of number of rooms and washrooms, the distributor's brand Azimut has launched a range of yachts under its Grande brand that gives the customer complete control over the final product.

"The concept is all about cooperation and working with the client. With the structural exterior design, we will work with the customer to exceed their expectations," said Alessio Tumbiolo, chairman of ART Marine in an interview at the Dubai International Boat Show.

Italian made, the largest Grande will be the 126-foot with a list price of 40 million euros (Dh200 million). Already in production, it will be the first to be completed in about 24 months.

Others in the range include a 110-foot and a 100-foot Azimut. Additionally, there is the sporty-designed 120SL at a list price of 13 million euros (Dh65 million).

Tumbiolo said the manufacturers chose Dubai to launch their new concepts because of the market's high penetration of luxury buyers.
