Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday inaugurated the World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) 2015, held in Sharjah under the theme ‘Where East Meets West’.
Sharjah’s integrated economic environment, developed infrastructure and sound legislation has enable the emirate to offer potential and safe haven for investors, Shaikh Sultan said in the forum’s keynote speech.
“Creativity and innovation is behind a healthy sustainable economy and that is what we are looking for in Sharjah,” Shaikh Sultan added.
The three-day forum is covering a range of topics crucial to the global FDI environment including global infrastructure, importance of financing in cross-border commercial transactions, workforce development and international mobility.
The first day of the forum was attended by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, Shaikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Shurooq, and top officials from local and international investment communities and organisations.
