Dubai : Dubai Municipality has started applying the new system for administering and renting its properties in cooperation with the e-Gov initiative.

Khalifa Harib, Director of Properties at Dubai Municipality, said that the new system supplies the investment department with a number of advantages such as registering leasing forms, renewing contracts, and efficiently administering the financial resources section through linking it with the government's resources planning system.

Hussain Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, had ordered the formation of a specialised work team for developing and updating the electronic system for leasing the municipality's properties.

Sabrriyah Ayoub, head of the investment section in the municipality said that the new system has actually led to a decline in processing time from 15 minutes to less than five minutes for each application.

She added that the new system has succeeded in meeting the needs of people renting property. She said that SMS service is also used to inform clients that their documents are ready to be picked up or that their papers need to be renewed.
