Abu Dhabi: Global Clearing House Systems has filed and won two lawsuits against the General Manager of the Customs Department for damages it claimed it suffered because of the failure to comply with the rules of a binding contract between the two parties.
The court ruled on Sunday that the General Manager was obligated to pay approximately Dh886 million to the plaintiff, in addition to seven per cent in legal interest from the date that the verdict is final.
The sentence is subject to appeal.
