Dubai : His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday visited the Ministry of Economy's new headquarters in Dubai.

During the visit, Shaikh Mohammad inaugurated the ‘Made In The UAE' website, which contains a comprehensive database of all local manufacturing companies in the country.

The website was completed by the ministry in cooperation with Dubai e-Government.

Shaikh Mohammad toured the new building and inspected the workflow, efficiency and employee performance in completing applications submitted to the ministry.

He stressed on the importance of using e-services in order to be time efficient and to minimise efforts in completing applications.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, were also present at the visit.

During the visit, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, told Shaikh Mohammad that the ministry gives top priority to consumer protection. He said that some amendments have been proposed regarding the provision of Law No. 24 of 2006, which was issued to curb commercial fraud.

Al Mansouri also told Shaikh Mohammad that the ministry was working towards a unified commercial licensing system, which aims at preventing the duplication of names. He said it will help enhance the commercial sector, and most importantly, it will also introduce a unified registration system between the ministry and relevant local bodies.
