Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Business Centre, affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, on Tuesday announced the implementation of a system for the immediate issuance of trade licences in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for all applications of extracting commercial licences within a time period not exceeding 10 minutes.

Ali Majid Al Mansouri, Head of the Department, said that this system is designed to improve the business environment and enhance the competitiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and is an important step to achieve targets set by the strategy of developing the business environment in the emirate that is implemented by the Abu Dhabi Business Centre.

He said that the system of the instant licensing issuance came after the department had conducted a comprehensive study, which included access to the best international practices in this area, in addition to the detailed knowledge of all the conditions for the execution of the system and the conditions related to business licenses with all the requirements and conditions to be provided in favour of the client.

He added that the performance of Abu Dhabi’s economy during 2014 was good and this is reflected in the levels of confidence and optimism towards the current and future economic conditions among the parties to the economic process of all categories, from consumers to businessmen, businesswomen and investors.

Al Mansouri said that he hoped that the instant issuance of commercial licensing system will constitute a quantum leap in the renewal of the business cycle at the level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including contributing to the enhancement of the competitiveness of the emirate and to boosting the contribution of trade and business sector in the GDP. Thus, it contributes to attracting more businessmen and investors to keep pace with the magnificent urban development witnessed by the emirate its three regions of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Gharbia.

He stressed that the Abu Dhabi Business Centre is keen to provide the best services for businessmen and investors through the application of “a Single-Window Service Principle”, where the centre has launched a range of electronic services that can be offered via smart devices for the furtherance of the directives of the Government of the United Arab Emirates to implement innovative solutions that focus on clients needs and the services provided to them.
