Dubai: The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has briefed officials from local civil aviation authorities, airports and air navigation services on the legal framework of grounding and banning foreign aircraft.

The workshop, held on Thursday, advised the stakeholders on new process when there is an immediate safety threat or where non-compliance constitutes a threat to safety. Over 30 officials attended the workshop. To date, the GCAA has banned nine countries, 49 operators and ground 304 aircraft.
