dnata, then known as Dubai National Air Travel Agency, opens Dubai’s first dedicated travel agency with two employees working in a small shop in Bur Dubai souq
1967
BOAC Vickers VC-10 aircraft launches direct Dubai-London flight, the first direct flight between Dubai and a major non-Middle Eastern city, on the basis of dnata guarantees 60 per cent of seats filled. Less than six months later a second weekly service is added.
1981
dnata opens world’s biggest ticketing operation at its news 260,000 square foot office at its new headquarters, the Dubai Airline Centre.
1998
dnata is the general sales agent for 33 airlines and operates 28 travel stores
2015
dnata revenue crosses Dh10 billion for the first for the financial year ending March 31, 2015. dnata reports Dh10.3 billion turnover and a profit of Dh906 million.
