Dubai: Emirates is starting direct cargo flights to Phnom Penh in Cambodia this month as it looks to tap into the lucrative Cambodia-European Union trade route.

Air cargo transported between Cambodia and the European Union grew by 16.5 per cent between 2012 and 2015, according to an index by logistics company Agility, cited by Emirates.

Weekly freighter services, operated by Emirates’ SkyCargo, will start on April 16, according to an emailed Emirates statement on Wednesday.
