Boat builder Al Marakeb records 50% first quarter sales spike

Dubai: Sharjah-based boat builder Al Marakeb announced a 50 per cent increase in its sales figures for the first quarter of this year compared to the same 2013 period.

The company, which specialises in leisure and fishing vessels, reported that it has sold 18 vessels since January 1 this year.

Al Marakeb has maintained its costs and reported a 50 per cent increase in revenue over the first quarter.

It has expanded facility space and increased its workforce to meet high production demands.
