Air Traffic Control (ATC) Forum will make its debut at this year’s Airport Show 2018, organisers announced on Wednesday, as air congestion becomes an important topic due to growth in flight movements, and passenger and cargo volumes.

According to projections by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), there will be approximately 1.85 million flights in 2030 per annum to and from the UAE with over 5,200 daily air traffic movements. Dubai Airports is expected to handle over 100 million passengers by 2020.

Aircraft movements in the region will witness a 5.2 per cent annual growth by 2030, according to International Civil Aviation Organisation.

The 2018 edition of Airport Show will be held from May 7 to 9 in Dubai.
