The plot The fourth film in the Underworld series (which happens to be its first in the 3D format) sees vampire warrioress, Selene - played by a PVC-clad and stompy Kate Beckinsale - escape from the lab in which she's been held, only to discover a world in which the human race has discovered the vampire race and declared war ‘til the end on them. Ergo, she's going to have to kick a lot of butt.
She soon discovers a hybrid girl - who is presumably part-vampire, part-human and maybe part-Lycan (Underworld's version of werewolves - far scarier than the canines in Twilight, and with waaaay less focus-worthy abs and angst). Turns out this girl holds the key to winning the war that has ravaged the world, and so Selene does all she can to keep hold of her.
