Dubai: It may take some time before the world can get over the loss of Robin Williams or have some semblance of an answer as to why or what led to the “apparent suicide.” But many have turned to the actor’s social media accounts to gain some insight into his life during his last few days.

The last public words of the beloved Oscar-winning comedic legend, 63, were for his only daughter who celebrated her 25th birthday last month.

Just a few weeks ago, the actor posted on Instagram and Twitter a family photograph. The black and white image showed a younger Williams clutching the little Zelda Rae in his arms, with his dreamy eyes looking into the camera.

In his post, he wrote: “Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl. Happy birthday @zeldawilliams. Love you!”

The Instagram account is peppered with pictures of the actor with some animals, his colleagues and family.

Williams was found dead from an apparent suicide at his Northern California home on Monday. He is survived by his third wife, Susan Schneider, his daughter and two sons, Cody Alan, 22 and Zachary Pym, 31.

Reports claim that Williams had suffered from severe depression for years and struggled with substance abuse.

Several hours ago, Zelda Rae paid tribute to her father on Twitter with a poignant quote from French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s El Principito: “ You – you alone will have the stars as no one else has them… In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing.”

“ And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night… You – only you- will have stars that can laugh.”

Zelda Rae added: “I love you. I miss you. I’ll try to keep looking up.”

Williams is known for his roles in Mork & Mindy TV series (1978-1982), The World According to Garp (1982), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), Good Will Hunting (1997), Mrs Doubtfire (1993), The Birdcage (1996), among others.

His performance in Good Will Hunting earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also won two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.
