Modern Family actor Ty Burrell says gay marriage in America is a “tide that can’t be turned”.
Burrell headlined a fundraiser in Salt Lake City on Thursday evening to help cover legal costs for couples fighting Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage. He lent his celebrity status to help a group backed by co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Ferguson plays one half of the ABC hit’s gay couple and founded Tie The Knot with his real-life husband, Justin Mikita, in 2012.
Ferguson says he and Mikita aren’t the type of guys who will be going out with bullhorns to support equality. He says, instead, they are doing it through humour and fashion.
