The ‘Desert Rose 2009' exhibition was inaugurated on Monday at the Ghaf Gallery in Abu Dhabi. The exhibition, now in its 8th year, showcases over 100 artworks by 16 students produced throughout three years of college education.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Richard G. Olson, the United States Ambassador to the UAE., Mohamed N. Al Ghanim, Director General and Board Member of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Hoda Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF and Dr. Bradley Cook, Director of Abu Dhabi Women's College.

The aim of the event is to showcase the students' best work to the community, the media industry and prospective employers. These works include graphic design, multimedia, audio, photography and video works.

Dr. Bradley Cook, Director of Abu Dhabi Women's College, said, “One of the college's strategic goals is to foster our students' creativity and innovation, and we're proud to support the exhibition of our graduating students from the Applied Media Program. Prestigious Media and Design programs around the world show their work in gallery exhibitions, and we're happy that our students can have the same experience. The Desert Rose exhibition showcases their best work.''

This year, the third year students are keen to demonstrate the high level of skill gained through their studies, and are determined to communicate that they are ready to begin their careers within the media industry.
