Concept and styling: Naheed Akram

Choosing an interior theme for your conservatory space always requires careful planning, especially if you opt for a theme such as retro. Luckily this season, trends are all about using bright happy-go-lucky colours in the home. The retro theme has made a comeback and this time there's a variety of modern-day prints, accessories and new textures to choose from.

To achieve this look head to Crate and Barrel and mix and match your accessories for a bright and airy feel to your conservatory space. We've used pouffes in bright orange, green and yellow which complement the decor, yet offer a comfy laid-back feel to the space.

For an instant boost opt for the Tiani cushions with their intricate floral embroidery and the Greta cushions. Large plants and were placed around the room in order to create a finely-balanced ambience.

Life’s a Beach
Concept and styling: Angela Boshoff Hundal

Lazy days and the crisp smell of the ocean, fresh seafood and dizzying sunsets; there's nothing quite like escaping to a welcoming beach house for the summer. If the idea of your holiday coming to an end fills you with dread, fear no more. By pairing the right decor and furniture, you can bring that seaside feeling into your conservatory all year long. Start off by pairing neutral hues - think cream, brown, beige and stark white - with rich textures in the form of wicker, hessian, linen and bursts of wool and embroidery on cushions and throws. Finish the look with a sprinkle of sea shells, a few books and a piece or two of coral in shades to suit your style. These Pottery Barn products are perfect for creating an ocean vibe that's soothing and practical.

Midsummer Nights
Concept and styling: Lena Moosa
Co-styling: Lena Margareta Roslund from THE One

As the sun sets, the mood changes. With the help of candles, Arabian lanterns, plush furnishings and accessories from THE One, we created a magical forest in this conservatory. Large ficus were brought in from Dubai Garden Centre's vast nursery. The floor was kept bare to reflect the rustic appeal of the outdoors, while a velvet throw, chaise longue, couch and cushions spelt luxurious comfort.

The accessories are decadent. Bejewelled boxes, fruit, shining butterflies, a peacock, and glittering candle holders jostle for space with vintage pieces like the Chinese cupboard, mirrored table and wrought-iron vase. The atmosphere is that of relaxed laziness, excitement and mystery, all in a magical forest. A midsummer night's fantasy.
