Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, received Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, who is currently on a visit to the UAE.

They discussed the relations of friendship and cooperation and ways to further develop their economic and commercial ties as well as encouraging investment activities in both countries.

Shaikh Abdullah said the UAE and Australia enjoy close strategic relations, and that he looks forward to his next visit to Australia in the next few weeks.

He underlined the importance of UAE-Australia relations in all spheres, especially education and tourism, evident by the increase in the number of Emirati students studying in Australia.

Shaikh Abdullah expressed his hope for further cooperation. He said the door is open to increase the volume of investment. “We need to work more on this field and increase investment between our countries by signing agreements, such as the Free Trade Agreement.
