As the summer heat picks up, it may be time for a refreshing glass of lemonade as the cost of lemons and lime dropped on Tuesday.

While the price of lemons dropped by 80 fils to Dh5 from Dh5.8 seen on Monday, lime got cheaper by 50 fils to currently cost Dh4.5.

When grocery shopping, be mindfull of the higher prices of tomatoes. Tomatoes now cost as much as Dh17, up from Dh11.9 yesterday - a difference of Dh5.1.

Red onions got slightly cheaper, with the staple vegetable now costing Dh1.5, just 20 fils lower from Dh1.7 earlier. The price of local cucumbers edged up slightly - by 20 fils to Dh5, from Dh4.8 yesterday

The prices of most fruits remained stable, so a generous helping of fruits can help up your healthy food intake. The cost of bananas slipped by 90 fils a kilo to Dh4 from Dh4.9.

If you're in the mood for some baked or even grilled Salmon, now may be the ideal time to stock up as the cost of the protein-rich fish dropped by Dh4.9 to Dh44, from Dh48.9 on Monday. Also, the price of Seabass fish slipped by nearly a dirham (90 fils) to Dh37 from Dh37.9.

However, the price of Hamour fish jumped back by Dh14.1 per kilo to Dh63 from Dh48.9, with Monday's similar-sized discount lasting just a day. The cost of Kingfish too rose, inching up Dh4 to Dh56.9 from Dh52.9 yesterday.

The cost of most other poultry and red meats have stayed in check, so if not in the mood for maybe Salmon, try maybe going for the other non-vegetarian options instead.
