Tunisia calls for postponing Haj

Tunisia: The Tunisian Ministry of Religious Affairs has called for postponing Haj this year.

The communiqué issued by the ministry said that this call stems from the need to preserve human life, which is the optimum target of Islam.

The ministry also said that the committee tasked with researching the pandemic effects of the H1N1 virus and its dangers said that it fears a fast spread of the disease because of the cold weather during the time of Haj.

The "ability" condition of Haj in Islam will not stand under such conditions.
