Baghdad: A large cache of weapons and bombs have been seized during a raid in Iraq's Sadr City, the US military said on Sunday.

The military said that Iraqi trooops seized 360 assault rifles, sniper rifles, guns, anti-tank mines, flak vests, 100 rocket-propelled grenades and multiple grenade launchers from a mosque.

The military said that other weapons were found in a local hospital near the mosque.

The military added that a total of 38 caches of weapons have been confiscated after a sweep of Baghdad's Shiite areas.
