Arab media watch: July 23
Addustour (Jordan), editorial
Arab countries cannot afford to remain neutral in this conflict. Those who have opted not fight on behalf of 'exhausted' Arab governments in Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia and others, should not accept Israeli actions under any circumstances. They ought to try to find out where the Lebanese blood will send the Arab umma (nation) this time around, after Iraqi blood led them to Medrid following a war that was unplanned and out of sight.
Al Khaleej (UAE), comment by Hossam Kanafani
It is no longer important if one is a supporter of Hizbollah or not. The battle has not left an option of choosing; it surpassed the two captured soldiers and even Hizbollah. The battle, as Mr. Hasan Nasrallah said, is like the one that occupiers (and their supporters) prepare for in order to fight the freedom movements in Lebanon and Palestine and even inside countries that continue to exist according to an American and Israeli direction, in order to put and end to the Middle East conflict in accordance with Israel's wishes

What's eye-catching is that the majority of protesters in the Arab capitals who lifted pictures of Mr. Nasrallah and chanted his name were Sunnis. This certifies that sectarian divisions, which the American occupation tried to strengthen starting with their occupation of Iraq, have melted in front of a united Muslim umma (nation) that includes all Muslims against Israeli aggression.
