Qatari mediators in Yemen to save truce

Sana'a: Qatari mediators arrived in Yemen on Sunday to help save a truce on the verge of collapse after a deadly mosque bombing in Saada.

The situation in Saada remained tense after a bomb blast killed 15 people outside a mosque on Friday.

On Saturday, clashes erupted between the army and rebels who seized a government building in Manbah town. The army has now surrounded the compound.

"The Qataris and the government delegation have now returned to Saada amid continued to tensions," said chief rebel negotiator Saleh Habra.

Yemeni officials say the rebels want to return to a form of clerical rule, while rebels said they are merely defending their villages against what they call government aggression.
