Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Thursday recorded 253 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight increase as compared to the past few days. The single-day virus-related deaths, however, continued to drop with just three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 367,276 and overall fatalities to 6,366. The ministry also reported 208 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 358,753, with the recovery rate reaching 97.67.
With the slight increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,157, out of which 362 were critical.
Kuwait
The daily tally of new coronavirus cases has continued to increase slightly, with 588 reported today. In its daily report, the Ministry of Health said the total number of infections has now gone up to 163,540.
One fatality been reported in the last 24 hours, taking death toll to 958. The overall recoveries have gone up to 156,387 after 436 patients fully recovered.
The active cases have now touched 6,105, including 46 that are admitted to intensive care units.
Bahrain
The Ministry of Health confirmed the detection of 427 new COVID-19 cases in Bahrain, bringing the total confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 101,116.
One more death has been recorded, taking fatality tally to 371, the ministry said in its latest update.
There have been 331 fresh recoveries, pushing total recoveries to 97,337. The active cases have now touched 3,408, including 3,385 that are stable and 23 are critical cases under intensive care.
Qatar
The total number of coronavirus infections in Qatar has mounted to 150,280, with 347 new cases reported on Thursday.
No new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, leaving death toll at 248.
According to the ministry’s latest update, a further 163 patients have fully recovered, pushing the total number of people recovered from the virus across the country to 145,414.
With the slight increase in the daily cases, the active cases have now touched 4,618, including 403 stable cases under treatment, while 42 are critical cases under intensive care.
Oman
A further 154 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and two deaths were reported in the Sultanate in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said.
This brings the total infections in the Sultanate to133,728 and fatality tally to 1,527. The total number of recoveries has climbed to126,572 after 86 fresh recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
The ministry urged everyone to adhere to precautionary measures and social distancing protocols issued by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling COVID-19.
