Dubai: The total number of COVID-19 infections in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain has shot up to 851,670 cases, while total fatalities has risen to 8,811.

Kuwait

A further 268 people tested positive in Kuwait today, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 143,260.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, one person died from the virus, bringing fatality tally to 882.

There were 509 fresh recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the overall tally of recoveries to 138,134.

The new cases were detected after 6,435 PCR tests were conducted over the last 24 hours, increasing total COVID-19 tests carried out across the country to 1,107,581.

The active cases have now reached4,244, including 79 that are critical cases under intensive care.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health announced the detection of 249 new coronavirus cases and 12 fatalities, bringing total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 357,872 and total deaths to 5,919.

The ministry reported the recovery of 373 patients over the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of people recovered from the deadly virus in the Kingdom to 347,513, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.10 per cent.

The active cases have fallen sharply to 4,440, out of which 632 are critical cases under intensive care.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health confirmed the detection of 255 new coronavirus cases and one more fatality on Wednesday, bringing the total cases in Qatar to 139,256 and death toll to 239.

A further 207 patients have fully recovered, pushing total people recovered across the country to 136,513. Active cases have now reached 2,504, including 266 that are still under treatment, while 29 critical patients are under intensive care.

Oman

The daily count of COVID-19 cases in Oman has touched 237 infections, raising total number of infections in the Sultanate to 124,145.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, no new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping the death toll at 1,430. The total recoveries have risen to 115,613, as 172 fresh recoveries were registered in a single day.

Bahrain

The Ministry of Health announced 181 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the Kingdom to 87,137.

No deaths were reported over the last 24 hours, keeping the Kingdom’s fatality tally at 341. Of the new cases, 91 are expatriate workers, while 81 people contracted the virus after contacting active cases and nine are travel related.

The new cases were detected after 10,503 PCR tests were conducted across the Kingdom. There were 216 fresh recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 85,357.

The active cases have now reached 1,439, out of which 1,426 are stable, while 16 are still receiving treatment and 13 are critically ill patients under intensive care.
